Looking ahead for Seniors

Seniors:

By now, many of you are starting to hear from colleges/universities that you have applied to, if you have done so already.  This is both a frustrating and exciting time for all of you.

Those of you who still have deadlines to meet for recommendations, please make sure you are up to date with when applications need to be handed into your counselor.  Counselors need at least two weeks notice to get materials such as transcripts, recommendation letters, and grades together to process your application.  As for the state schools, even though they are on a "rolling admissions" get them in as soon as possible.

Parents should be filing the FAFSA forms at this time.  There is a link to CSLF on this guidance department page if assistance is needed.  The sooner the FAFSA is filed, the sooner your financial aid package for the school of your choice can be processed.

Please make sure that you are staying strong in your academic program and that you are not allowing "senioritis" to creep in.  Schools will require final transcript and will look to see how students finish out their year.  Keep going strong and please touch base with your counselor if you have questions or concerns.
