Our Mission
It is our mission to assist all students in maximizing their personal/social, academic, and vocational growth as they pass through specific developmental stages in their lives.
Our Philosophy
Berlin High School's Comprehensive School Counseling Program is aligned with the mission and expectations of Berlin High School. It is expected that each Berlin High School student will A.C.H.I.E.V.E. 1) Academic Success, 2)Community Involvement, 3)a Healthy Lifestyle, 4) Individual Responsibility, 5) Ethical Citzenship, 6) a Value of creativity, and 7) Explore his or her potential. Central to the Berlin High School Mission and Expectations for Student Learning is the recognition that individual students have intellectual, physical, and social strengths and needs.
The services provided by each of the counselors in the department are structured to anticipate and nuture each student's personal, social, vocational, and academic growth stage. Our entire program is planned and systematic, incorporating a school counseling curriculum, individual planning, responsive services, and systems support.
The Comprehensive School Counseling Program is an integral part of Berlin HS total educational programming. The counselors in this department work collaboratively with teachers, administration, parents, and the community at large to assist students in the achievement of these goals. It is our hope to guide students into becoming educated, productive members of society and be able to lead meaningful and rewarding lives.
